I got married in Japan but my friends and family live all around the world, so many of them couldn’t come to this ceremony. We made this quilt to include them. They made trees from fabric that we sewed together. 

The spaces between the trees make hearts. 

Last minute, late comer tree sew-in. 

We started back when it was cold. Here drying painted ones on the stove with Aibom.

These are the first ones that arrived at my house. It was very exciting and touching to receive the packages in the mail.

“lets go to market” by Frank Leto ? 

I made these to help my students practise speaking. These pics are the original paintings, I’m going to photocopy and laminate them. Then, students can draw along the path with a whiteboard marker as they say “around the island, through the city” etc. All 4 drawings join up to make one long journey.

I am very inspired today. I thought that you needed a lot of expensive equipment to have fun weaving but it’s not true!  Together with my friend Aibom we made 2 reeds from a packet of skewers and some epoxy resin. Then we did a load of weaving all in one day.
