The book is a horrible menu of insect infected sandwiches. The size and shape is like a large sandwich, and it is real scale. It is designed for blind and visually impaired children, so texture and shape was the main focus, but use of bold colours and shapes also important.

The competition was led by the Tactile Book Advancement Group, and awards were made at the RNIB's Tactile Graphics 2008 conference in Birmingham in November. The book has been on tour with the other winning entries but will ultimately be donated to Clearvision (www.clearvisionproject.org), which is a UK postal library for visually impaired children.
