FALLING: a story in four parts
A steep mountain covered in trees made every living thing on it fall in love.
A funicular railway was built. Two trains on either end of a long cable fell in love. But their love was fated. The cable tied them together and kept them apart; the weight of one train riding to the bottom pulled the other train to the top. They passed each other briefly on every journey, but were filled with sadness because they could never be together.
During a terrific thunder storm, rain pelted down and thunder shook the earth in the mountain. Lightening struck the cable, It snapped and the top train plumetted down the mountain and crashed into the other. They were destroyed. But they were together in death.
The trees mourned the deaths of the trains. Nature crept back over the wreckage and the railway became unseen. The animals, birds and insects gradually took over the debris, and saplings grew between the sleepers.
